Pin International has won Intellectual Property Award
Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) announces the importance of intellectual property as a drive to creative economy according to government pilot policy, IP Champion Project. The summit awards are for entrepreneurs with the highest usage of intellectual property service and the highest turnover and earnings within 5 consecutive years.
On May 11, 2009, Mrs. Puangrat Asvapisit, director-general of the Intellectual Property Department, disclosed that DIP has organized a pilot project, “IP Champion”. This is a notification to recognize the essential of intellectual property and benefit that business will gain from utilizing intellectual property as the main drive forward to creative economy.
IP Champion Project commenced initially this year to select entrepreneurs who successfully use the registration service to protect and utilize intellectual property commercially. The committee consists of qualified professionals from Department of Intellectual Property, Department of Business Development and Department of Export Promotion. Major criteria in selection is determined by statistics on usage of DIP services, namely, number of applications on patent and sub-patent registration within 5 consecutive years (2004-2008), the highest turnover and earnings within 5 consecutive years as well as good corporate governance.
There are 2 award categories, patent & sub-patent and trademark.
Main qualifications of selected entrepreneurs are as follows: a Thai company with a minimum of 1,000,000 baht in registered capital, going concern, and user of patent & sub-patent protection, good corporate governance and cooperative & supportive to DIP activities.
She continued that there is a list of selected 20 entrepreneurs in each category. DIP has finalized into 5 entrepreneurs in each category

Srithai Superware Public Company Limited – manufacturer, distributor and exporter of plastic product, kitchen utensils, stationery, house ware and parts
Pin International Company Limited – toy manufacturer and exporter.
Modernform Group Public Company Limited – home décor and office furniture manufacturer, distributor, importer and exporter
Index Living Mall Company Limited – home décor, furniture manufacturer and distributor
Para Windsor Company Limited – office furniture manufacturer and exporter.
Trademark category:
Chia Tai Company Limited – manufacturer and importer of agricultural products, seeds, fertilizer and chemical
Osotspa Company Limited – manufacturer, wholesaler-retailer of pharmaceutical drug, instant foods and beverage
Tipco Foods (Thailand) Public Company Limited – manufacturer and supplier of canned pineapples.
Bangkok Broadcasting & Television Company Limited – media advertiser on television
URC (Thailand) Company Limited – manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer of snacks, biscuits, chocolate and candy.
Trophy award ceremony will be held on DIP Foundation Anniversary Day, May 14, 2009.
